Protector Baton vs Matrix-C: Which ASP Baton Wins?

Quick answer

The ASP Protector Concealable Baton offers proven concealability and striking power for plainclothes officers, while the Matrix-C baton (not in our catalog) is a newer design with different features. For most off-duty and plainclothes roles, the Protector is the reliable choice. If you prioritize the Matrix-C's specific innovations, consider it, but verify availability.

Trade-offs at a Glance

• Proven vs. Newer Design: Protector is a field-tested design used by police in over 100 countries. Matrix-C is newer but lacks the same track record from our data. If you value reliability and proven performance, choose Protector.
• Concealability vs. Feature Set: Protector excels in concealability for plainclothes roles. Matrix-C may offer additional features, but specifics are unknown. For off-duty or plainclothes, Protector is the clear winner. For specialized needs, research Matrix-C features separately.
• Carry System Compatibility: Protector pairs seamlessly with Horizon Scabbard for optimal draw. Matrix-C carry options are not documented here. If you need a complete carry solution now, Protector + Horizon Scabbard is ready to go.
